Messengers and their influence on communication

 I think that topic of real-time chat has influenced the whole field of messaging to the extent, that sometimes we can’t even come off our devices using chats nearly all the time. Nowadays, it is pretty hard for us to wait five more seconds for a message to be delivered via Telegram, WhatsApp, or some other messenger due to slow internet somewhere outside. However, more than twenty years ago we were so enthusiastic about waiting even a couple of weeks for a response to our letter.


Chats have entered all spheres of our life: work, studies, and relationships with people, so it is pretty hard to find a young person not using this "achievement of technology". Every new invention in the 21st century tends to improve convenience to an extent, that the only thing we should do is just click several times to ask or reply to someone’s message. It may seem that this trend will lead to unavoidable slothfulness but I think it has only discovered a new horizon for humanity. Numerous people are skeptical of apps like Tinder or Badoo, but I think it is a chance to meet a person, you will spend a great time with. An important feature of such a product is an inbuilt messenger where you can chat with each other. This phenomenon has replaced some old-school methods of meeting new people, even without mentioning the amount of time that can be spent on something else.

But with great power comes great responsibility as it comes to illegal actions in such chats. A scammer or a person that is going to harm others may masquerade behind a beautiful face, so sometimes it may lead to unnecessary problems. We all heard about such actions in social media, so vigilance should become the most powerful defense.

Despite the fact how convenient messengers are now, they will never replace live conversation. It is pretty hard sometimes to understand a person’s intention and emotions only by looking at your screen, so there should always be a balance between these two types of communication to remain connected to society and the world.

  It is amazing how technologies are evolving. We can’t even imagine that something, not alive can perform some functions or recognize movements as a human being. Different assistive technologies such as braille displays and keyboards, technologies to transform neural impulses into some actions happening on a screen, and of course eye trackers. Help keep flame wars under control

  Since my childhood, the Internet was slowly creeping into humans’ lives and now has become a crucial part of everyday routine. The course I have decided to study promotes using various web resources not only to get some knowledge but to share it as well.
